With current technology large, complex simulation models cannot be run in minutes. Simulation software that combines two or more formalisms in one simulation model is hard to find. Developers working on simulation-based applications don’t have strong tooling to perform the computation-intensive calculations that come with discrete event, agent based or continuous simulations. Yes, there are open source and proprietary simulations products on the market. But none of these can handle large or multi-formalistic simulations fast.
InControl spent years in R&D and created “ERS: Enterprise Resource Simulator”. A groundbreaking simulation engine that can be used to enable powerful simulations applications or build and run challenging models fast.
Via SDK’s ERS gives users the power to use available computer cores at once and run one model without harming the synchronization and validity that are so key to reliable simulations. This means that you can run far larger models faster by just adding more hardware. Currently, ERS handles 300 million objects faster than real-time (and we haven’t even tested more than 64 cores yet). Because of this, models run a factor 10.000 times faster than any existing simulation software can deliver. Alternatively, you can build simulation models of scope and size that previously were not practically feasible given compute time and costs.
One of the consequences is that it transforms simulation from an “one-off, in advance, analysis -tool” into an operational decision-making tool as users can run what-if scenarios in seconds, not hours.
