System requirements

In order to run Enterprise Dynamics, you need the Microsoft Windows operating system.
Enterprise Dynamics is proven compatible with the Microsoft Windows 98 (Se), 2000 (Service Pack 3), XP (Service Pack 2), NT4 (Service Pack 6) and Windows Vista.

A second criteria depends on how the software is used. Users who will only use the standard components in small to medium sized models with a limited number of 'products' require a different configuration then users who are exploring the limits the software's capabilities (most limitations on this level of usage are caused by hardware limitations).

To give an idea what hardware configuration suits you best, we have listed three configurations, Minimum, recommended and Advanced. Most of the descriptions of hardware are very generic due to the fluid nature of computer hardware developments, but we will try to give you some insight:

Minimum Recommended Advanced
Processor: 200 MHz 1500 MHz 3000 MHz
Memory: 64 Mb 1 Gb 1 Gb
Harddisk space: 400 Mb 1 Gb 8 Gb
Operating system: Windows 98 Windows 2000/XP Windows 2000/XP
Videocard: OpenGL compatible Consumer OpenGL Professional OpenGL

Some items to take into account when purchasing a system on which to run Enterprise Dynamics are:

  • Laptop graphic chipsets
Most low-priced laptops come with excellent 2D graphics chipsets. However, to use Enterprise Dynamics to the full extent, it is recommended that you use a laptop with a major brand 3D graphics card with at least 32 Mb of (non-shared) ram (for textures and framebuffer). Ask your hardware supplier for a chipset which supports native OpenGL. (most video-chipsets made after 2003 are fast enough for realtime presentation of medium-sized models)

Are you wondering if your future system will be compatible with Enterprise Dynamics? Send us an E-mail with the system details.
