For whom? For teachers interested in or working with simulation. Simulation can be taught as method in a pure simulation course, but also as a way of understanding dynamic behavior of systems. The course is built around case studies of the Educational Suite and Enterprise Dynamics, and therefore especially valuable for teachers who bought the Educational Suite.
Course outline In 3 days we concentrate on three aspects of Simulation & Education: solving simulation problems with the instrument of case studies, the Enterprise Dynamics software as tool in a simulation study, and the development and teaching of a simulation course.
Course objectives
- Elements of a simulation model
- Steps to a successful simulation study
- Overview Enterprise Dynamics: menu structure and library
- Basic modeling steps in Enterprise Dynamics: predefined logic, the channel-concept,...
- Basic atoms: Product, Source, Queue, Server, Sink and many others...
- 8 complete cases for more than 120 student hours: a new production line, the supermarket, a transport system, the new distribution center, the airport pier, the job shop, the bus station, the carpenter's factory.
- A first start in 4Dscript: structure, basic commands, triggers and labels
- Every participant gets an instruction guide with the slides, the cases and (afterwards) the models.
