Simulation of Green Island Bornholm with ED
INCONTROL's partner Integrate has, in cooperation with Business Centre Bornholm (Vaeksthus Hovedstadsregionen) just started a project regarding the realization of Bornholm as a 'Bright Green Test Island' which is the vision of Bornholm - in addition to becoming 100% powered by renewable energy - to promote and brace tests of smart, green technologies on the island.
Integrate develops a conceptual model for:
Modeling and simulating clean-tech companies' technologies in an isolated local test situation in order to:
- Test the impact of new technologies and new legislation.
- Migrate and scale test results to other social conditions.
The objective is to create a virtual test environment for simulation and testing of technologies with the option to migrate the test results from local and controlled conditions to regional, national and international conditions (boundary conditions and scale factors). For example relocation of a technology platform and its process conditions from Bornholm to Chinese conditions and dimensions.
The platform consists of a database to maintain data and boundary conditions regarding the society and a model made in the simulation software Enterprise Dynamics®. Enterprise Dynamics® has been used in many industries worldwide – e.g. to assess impact of change, risk management and visualization of concepts.
The first part of the project is based on the technologies, designed and produced by the world’s leading supplier of industrial laundries Jensen Group and used by an industrial laundry on the island, where the model for example must be able to:
- Simulate the current production and performance of the technology platform at the laundry, which includes quantifying the consumption of water and energy plus the discharges of sewage – measured in days, weeks, months and years.
- Simulate the flow, consumption and emissions with a state-of-the-art technology platform.
- Migration of simulation and results to the entire country and / or other conditions (local product flows, proportions and supply conditions).
